Description
With our "Malgas" merino maternity trousers, the unbeatable natural fiber merino wool, supplied by Mother Nature herself, accompanies you through your pregnancy and into the breastfeeding period. The Merino maternity trousers are made from 94 % RWS certified merino wool and 6 % elastane, so that the trousers fit comfortably even shortly before the birth without cutting in. It can be worn as a comfortable and warming base layer under jeans in the colder months or as a top layer at home on warm days. Merino wool is particularly characterized by its independent temperature and moisture regulation. With a grammage of 200 g/m², the trousers actively keep you warm in the cold, even when damp. In hot weather, on the other hand, the pants release stored moisture, making them noticeably cooler. Merino wool also wicks moisture away from the body, which keeps you much drier during light exercise during pregnancy. Another striking feature of merino wool is that it does not scratch the skin. Even for very sensitive skin types, it ensures significantly less or no irritation. And last but not least, merino wool is virtually odorless. Due to the special nature of the fiber, unpleasant odors are absorbed much more slowly than with comparable synthetic fibers. Both the elastane content and the large and particularly stretchy waist insert ensure comfortable freedom of movement. Our merino maternity trousers are also ideal for light sports activities, whether it's gentle jogging, yoga or antenatal classes. The simple design of the merino trousers impresses with its mottled look and simplicity that gets to the heart of the matter.
Responsible Wool Standard (RWS)
Animal welfare is particularly important to us in the production of our merino wool. For this reason, we only choose RWS-certified merino wool for our production. However, the seal not only certifies the sheep's wool itself, but also the entire supply chain. The seal certifies both fair working conditions and payments for their employees, the renunciation of exploitation and child labor, as well as standards for the sheep kept. These standards include constant access to clean drinking water and sufficient age-specific feed, checking the physical condition of the sheep, good air exchange in the barn, no branding and strict requirements for castration and stunning. Most importantly, RWS certified merino wool is mulesing free. Which means that the painful procedure to remove embedded fly larvae is omitted.
OEKO-Tex
OEKO-Tex certification stands for strict environmental and social standards. This means that our merino wool has been tested for harmful substances and is safe for both the wearer and the environment. The seal confirms that the merino underwear does not contain any harmful chemicals that could cause skin irritation or allergies. Another important aspect is the durability and ease of care of OEKO-Tex certified merino wool. Due to its high quality and careful processing, it is more resistant to wear and tear and can withstand frequent washing and wearing better than inferior wools. This also ensures a smaller ecological footprint, as new clothes need to be bought less often.
