At first glance, a simple baselayer in the classic undershirt style. But if you want to wear the same undershirt on frosty days and lukewarm summer days at the same time, our "Alice Springs" top is the perfect choice. The special fiber structure of merino wool insulates in the cold and cools in the heat. Ideal thermoregulation for the upper body on the ski slopes under a ski sweater or in summer under a running shirt. In both cases, the natural fiber merino offers optimum performance. The 200 g/m² grammage covers a wide range of temperatures. Warming in winter temperatures and slightly cooling in late spring, with the onset of the first warm summer days. In all scenarios, the short-sleeve top feels soft on the skin and does not scratch. No pinching, no chafing, no skin irritation. Flatlock seams in the shoulder area prevent pressure points from shoulder straps. Ergonomic cut is the basis for a perfect first layer for climbing, speed hiking, hiking or downhill skiing with high extension movements. Moisture management and temperature-regulating properties ensure a comfortable temperature. Whether directly on the descent or during a break in one of the many mountain huts, the natural fibers always create a balanced wearing comfort.
The merino fiber is odorless. Unpleasant odors are hardly absorbed on hikes lasting several days, when sitting for long periods while traveling or working overtime in the office. Odor-resistant, antibacterial and uncomplicated, the clothing can be washed by hand on the Biwacktour and can be worn for more than one day with a pleasant body climate. An essential item as the basis for an outdoor outfit or for everyday wear. Especially as the top doesn't fluff.
In addition to a variety of color options, we now also offer this item in white/wool white. This undyed and natural version complements our product range with an authentic option that highlights the natural beauty of the wool.
Responsible Wool Standard (RWS)
Animal welfare is particularly important to us in the production of our merino wool. For this reason, we only choose RWS-certified merino wool for our production. However, the seal not only certifies the sheep's wool itself, but also the entire supply chain. The seal certifies both fair working conditions and payments for their employees, the renunciation of exploitation and child labor, as well as standards for the sheep kept. These standards include constant access to clean drinking water and sufficient age-specific feed, checking the physical condition of the sheep, good air exchange in the barn, no branding and strict requirements for castration and stunning. Most importantly, RWS certified merino wool is mulesing free. Which means that the painful procedure to remove embedded fly larvae is omitted.
